Wrongly accused

The judge then spoke. "The defendants shall now testify." Sark's lawyer stood up. "Thank you your honor. Now from what I have gathered, this robbery occured at 10 hundred hours. My client was sleeping at the time, inside of his apartment. He was then arrested by imperials and hauled away." The judge nodded and continued. "Can the defendant produce proof that this is true?" Sark nodded and gestured to the witness seats. TC unfolded and stood up. The judge had an amused expression on her face. "A droid? Isn't there a law against droids in court?" Sark's lawyer replied. "Only if they have a lie detector installed then they are allowed." The judge reluctantly accepted this. "Very well. Carry on droid." TC nodded and began to speak. "At exactly 10 hundred hours, my master was sleeping. I was in a storage cavity, and was able to note when my master laid down. That time was 9 hundred hours. There was no way he could have conducted the robbery in his sleep." The judge motioned for TC to shut up and began to speak. "The prosecutors shall now reply."

Caredetru's jaw dropped. He couldn't believe what he was seeing.
This doesn't make sense. I thought that Sark was a good guy. He helped me save Tressa twice, but now he robbs a bank and kills someone? Caredetru wanted to leap up and scream "But he helped me save my wife! He saved Ali's wife! He saved Jano Rexanel! How could he do something like this?!" But he kept his silence. More witnesses were called. They all agreed that he had killed the banker, took the money, and even his acount number being 124-09-657. But one thing differed in all testimonies. Some said that he had taken the money and went out the front, which seemed unlikely, some said he went out the back, some said that he want out the side door, some even said that he used a thermal detonator to blow down a wall. This key point was never agreed upon. Sark's personal droideka spoke up, saying that Sark had been sleeping at the time. What Caredetru could tell was wrong with this was that the droid had noted that Sark layed down at 9:00, but the roberry had been comited at 10:00. If the droid had been powered down at the time, then it would have no way of knowing if Sark had stayed the entire time.

(ooc- eventually, we jury are going to have to have a recess to discuss the case)

" I would like to say my honor, that a droid can be installed with a lie detector and still lie. For they themsleves have to patterns just numbers and electronics. And even if it worked it could be hacked only to seem as if it worked. Also may I add that we have security camera evidence showing that the defendant was at the bank and did commit the charges held against him." said Ali he was certain the droid had to be mistaken or corrupted. He sat down to let the defendant continue. Ali wondered if Sark could do such a thing.

Urik enterd the court room and interupted the Judge. "If I may saw this Selkath that robbed the bank, was clever, sneaky, skilled and cold hearted while Jimmy here is a piece of oversensitve Sushi that can't do anything right! How in the world could it be him!?"

A stormtrooper leaped up when Urik burst into the courtroom at the same time the defence attourny leaped up, and both screamed "OBJECTION!!!". The judge shouted, pointing his gavel at the two, "Sustained!" He turned to Urik. "You get out of here! Security, get him out of her!" (ooc- Duvnar, don't you dare kill the guards. Just go peacefully)

Sark was hunched over and gritting his teeth. Urik was no better than Dunvar, and he wished both of them would just shut up with the Sushi comments. He could rob a bank if he wanted. He just didn't want to. The judge looked at TC. "Droid, were you powered down at the moment Sark was sleeping?" TC shifted a bit and replied: "Yes, I was. I was able to relay what happened via the camera Sark had installed inside of his apartment." The judge turned to Sark. "Is this true?" Sark's laywer stood up. "Yes your honor, my client does indeed have a camera installed in his room. We have the footage if you would like to see it." The judge motioned with her gravel to play the footage. When it was finished, she adressed the prosecutors. "Now how can Sark rob a bank if he was clearly sleeping in his apartment at the time?"

Urik left peacefully. The door slammed behind him as Caredetru and the Girl were denied accsess to. Urik turned to them and said "So what do we do now?" Urik sat down in anger and than yelld "DAMMIT!" as he tossed a chair down the hall "Why did Duvnar Have to die! He'd know what to do!"

(OOC: Hate to sound annoying, but Cared is part of the jury. Oh, and if you still want to be a part of this Helix, go right on ahead. We'll say you were late.)

Ali stood up and replied," If I may my honor the video could of been tampered with or faked. Even if he did sleep he could of set the internal camera time. So as I say this video is irrelavant. You may continue," Ali sat down and set his next move up.

After a few more hours the judge seemed happy. "Jury, you may now converse with each other." Sark was silently praying that the jury would accept his case. Cared was in them after all. However, there was more of the jury. He could be overruled.

"wait my honor may I place my final piece of evidence. The one that will end this case for once and for all?" He knew the judge would have to let him show one more because of the fact that a mans freedom was at stake.

The judge reluctantly let Ali continue. "Very well. You shall proceed. Carry on then." Sark breathed again. Ali was still a friend, and he was probably trying to save his life and all.

Ali stood up with a grace only obtained by those who carry hard weights to bear. He walked over to the projector and slid in a security film. As it played it showed the harsh story that seemed so unrealistic and fake. Every believed he was innocent. This here, this security camera showed with no doubt that he was there. the only problem is he never walked out of the vault. In that case said," His escape is not know and probably will never truely be known. All I can say is that, I am surprised how with this type of evidence, Sark thought he could get away with such an extreme crime. That banker was a women of the age of 26 with two kids, single parent, who had done nothing wrong. As my very last person I'd like to call up to the stand is Rick her 4 year old son. (this is sad) The crowd quickly changed faces to a more discrete face. As the little kid walked he hardley was taller than the seats that the audiance sat in. When he made it to the stand Ali walked over to him and said," Where is your mother?" There was a gasp as he asked the question, the kid starred blankly at Ali and said," She is at work she is taken a whittle longer than she usally does." Ali almost cried as his voice cracked when he said," She is at work...................................................................................................ummmm, I....I don't know what to say to this child. All I can say is how can anyone do such a thing. He then said," You can go now Rick." The child quickly left the court with the officer in charge of watching him untill the court made its decision. Ali slowly walked over to his chair and sat down, in a low voice he said," That is all"

Sark was staring open-mouthed. Ali tried to help him? Now the jury wanted to kill him! Everyone was giving Sark looks that said "You-stupid-piece-of-dirt-how-could-you-be-so-cruel" Even the judge was looking angrily at him. The judge motioned to the jury so they could converse. Sark sank lower into the seat. He was.....

Screwed.

Ali knew he damned his friend, he had just feed him to the lions. But if this was true he really did it. he deserved all of the pain that was to come.

(ooc- actually, Juries are given all of the time that they need. There was a case solved yesterday where it took 6hours for the jury to get the final verdict. If they can just not come up with a completely unanimous verdict, they have to go to a motel where they have absolutely no contact with the outside world until they can come up with a completely unanimous verdict)

Caredetru stood with the rest of the jury and filed out of the courtroom.

They were back within two minutes, and Caredetru held a datacard in his hand.
"May we have the verdict?" The judge asked expectantly. Caredetru rose slowly, and took one last long look at Sark.

I am so sorry. I really am, but I have no other choice he attempted to convey with his eyes. "We, the jury, find the defendant......." He swallowed very hard, and took a deep breath. "Guilty on all charges"

From the other side of the door when Urik heard the words "Guilty on all charges" he roared so loudly everyone in the building could hear him. He smashed through the wooden door sending wood flying everywhere as he charged staright at Caredetru, he rammed him into the Judge's Counter, gripped his neck and threw him into the wall he roared again and yelled "HOW COULD YOU! YOU BETRAYED HIM! ME! EVERYONE! YOU EVEN BETRAYED DUVNAR! WOULD KILL YOU TO RESPECT A GREAT MAN WHO IS NOW DEAD! CAN'T YOU BE THE SMALLEST BIT HUMAN! NO! YOU CAN'T! WHY SHOULD YOU LIVE!" Security rushed in the room and shot down Urik. It appeared he was dead but he survived. As Urik fell Duvnar felt a terrible feeling in his gut, he check his life detector, Urik was... dead. Duvnar punched the wall of his cell and yelled "DAMMIT! UIRK! WHY'D YOU HAVE TO DIE!"

(OOC: Oh, my bad.)

As some of the people looked outraged, Sark's mouth hung open again. Guilty? On all charges? Sark saw Cared give him a look that said "I am so sorry. I really am, but I have no other choice", so Cared was still on his side. Ali was questionable, and Urik was not even here. TC looked like he was going to burst up and kill everyone in the courtroom, but he supressed himself. The judge stood up. "Agreed. Sark Kashkr is herby sentenced to death, for murder, battery, and armed robbery. Court ajurned." Sark's hopes had just flown out the window. The very least he expected was prison, but death?!? As everyone began to get up and leave, Sark was escorted out of the courtroom and into an imperial prison vehicle. He was then taken to his cell, where he was told that his execution was to take place in 4 days.

Meanwhile, TC was standing outside the empty courtroom. The lie detector was taken off, but TC was frozen in shock. His only companion was going to be killed. The facts just did not fall into place. The "Sark" in the video was doing one of the most evil things anyone could imagine. His Sark would never do something like that. He had plenty of money and never killed an innocent.

TC decided that he had a bit more investigating to do.

(OOC: Due to the lack of posting I encourage everybody that was not in this forum to take part!)

It took TC 2 days to think of a plan. He could not find the evidence himself so he had to get help. The first thing TC did was lock Sark's house and roll as fast as he could to anybody that could help get Sark out of this mess.

(OOC: Once again I will allow anybody to take control of TC. Making him kill himself is not allowed, so don't get any ideas.)

Urik couldn't be detained for a fight so after an hour he was let go, as he ran off he slammed right into TC and the droid flew into the wall. Urik stopped first thing he relised he hit the droid, he turned around to face the droid and said "Still trying to free Fish Head?"

TC had been searching for people when Urik crashed into him. The good thing was that TC was intact. The bad thing was that he was upside-down.
"Yes. I have a reason to believe that the Sark in the video was not the Sark we all know. I need anybody who knows Sark well or has a friend that does."

TC gave himself a little shake and got back on his feet. He then turned to Urik waiting for a response.

"Well theirs allways the guy who stunned him but he's been tricked into prison at the moment" Urik was thinking of anybody that would be able to help.

"I'm drawing up a blank, I don't think that Fish Head has any friends with the capabilites to get him out, not wait, theirs Tahrr but he's gone missing"

TC gave Urik a look that suggested that Sark did not only have 1 friend, he had others as well.

"What about Caredetru? Although he was the one that said Sark was guilty, he may have been overruled. Ali is questionable, so we might not get his help. It doesn't matter. We need to gather the remaining evidence in 2 days or Sark will be killed. And I do NOT want him killed."
